To reinforce the cooperation with other neighboring regions for the development of the arbitration and conciliation systems in Macau, “WTC Macau Arbitration Center” signed cooperation agreements with “Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators” and “Hong Kong Mediation Centre” on September 19, 2006. The parties will join their efforts in providing specialized training to potential and practising arbitrators and conciliators, in order to enhance their professional skills as well as to strengthen the confidence of the public to the systems in Macau. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Secretary for Economy and Finance Mr. Francis Tam Pak Yuen, and followed by a seminar entitled “The Introduction of Arbitration and Conciliation Systems”, wherein experts from Hong Kong have shared their insights on arbitration and conciliation with the audience.
