To promote the development of arbitration and nurture professional talent, the World Trade Center Macau Arbitration Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) launched the “Arbitration Fundamentals Course” from September to November 2025. The programme attracted professionals from various sectors across Macao and Mainland China, reflecting strong regional interest and practical demand for arbitration knowledge.
The course was delivered by three seasoned instructors with extensive experience in both practice and teaching: Associate Professor Shen Yunqiao, Director of the Center for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Studies at the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology; Assistant Professor Xie Gengliang, Programme Coordinator at the same faculty; and Ms. Vong Sok Hei, Rosita, Secretary-General of the Center.
Course content covered the basic theory of international commercial arbitration, arbitration procedures, recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, relevant legal frameworks, and the institutional rules of the Center. The curriculum was designed to help participants acquire a systematic understanding of arbitration practice.
Looking ahead, the Center will continue to strengthen local talent development and foster regional cooperation through professional training programmes and exchange platforms, further enhancing Macao’s participation and professional standing in the field of arbitration.
