From 15 to 16 October 2025, the World Trade Center Macau Arbitration Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) was invited by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Mediation Alliance to participate in trade dispute mediation work at the Complaint Station of the 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). Representing the Center, Case Manager Ms. Hong Chi Ieng and Mediator Ms. Lídia Chan served as mediation experts during the event.
Over the course of two days, the two experts assisted in resolving four international trade disputes, three of which resulted in successful settlements with signed agreements.
This participation not only demonstrated the strength of Macao’s professional mediation services in the resolution of international commercial disputes, but also highlighted the essential role of mediation in fostering cross-cultural understanding, preserving trade partnerships, and delivering practical and professional value in cross-border commercial dispute resolution.
As global trade continues to deepen, mediation services are increasingly becoming a key tool for businesses to enhance risk management and operational efficiency. The Center will continue to promote professional exchange and institutional development in the field of mediation, supporting the efficient resolution of regional commercial disputes and enabling enterprises to navigate global trade with greater confidence and stability.
