On 23 May 2025, a delegation led by Mr. Yang Qunbao, Director of the Jian Arbitration Commission, visited the World Trade Center Macau Arbitration Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) for a meeting focused on the evolving landscape of cross-border arbitration.
During the session, Ms. Vong Sok Hei, Secretary-General of the Center, provided an overview of the Center’s development positioning, core services, and the legal framework governing arbitration in Macao. Mr. Yang Qunbao also introduced the background and growth trajectory of the Jian Arbitration Commission. He noted that with the deepening integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and increasingly close economic ties between Mainland China and Macao, the demand for effective cross-border commercial dispute resolution is on the rise.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Wu Gang, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Jian Arbitration Commission; Ms. Luo Caiping, Deputy Director and Deputy Secretary-General; Mr. Liu Huigui, Member and Deputy Secretary-General; Ms. Lai Xiaoyun, Deputy Director of the Office; Ms. Wang Xia, Deputy Director of the Development Department; and Ms. Li Caiying, Arbitration Secretary. Representing the Center were legal expert Ms. Hong Chi Ieng and legal assistant Ms. Ng Hio Wa.
