With the increasing numbers of petition for arbitration, international arbitration has become more and more important particularly in the Greater China Region. To provide a platform for fostering co-operation among arbitral institutions in the Greater China Region for the promotion and enhancement of the use and development of arbitration, the “Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators”, together with 10 arbitration organizations in the Greater China Region formed the “Greater China Arbitration Forum” on November 21, 2007 . Being one of the founding members, “WTC Macau Arbitration Center” participated in the forum and Prof. Tong Io Cheng, arbitrator of “WTC Macau Arbitration Center”, delivered a speech on the “Trends and Opportunities of Arbitration in Macau”.
