A 3 member delegation comprising of the President of the General Council of WTC Macau Arbitration Center Mr. Vitor Ng, Vice-President Mr. Alberto Marçal and Secretary-General Mr. Ivan Fong, has visited “HK Mediation Center”, “HK International Arbitration Center” and “HK Institute of Arbitrators” on May 3, 2010. The Vice-President of HK Mediation Center, Mr. Lam Yeung Yin, and Past President and Chairman of Board of Governors, Ms. Sylvia Siu welcomed the delegates from Macau and made a detailed presentation on the activities of the HK Mediation Center. The afternoon session was held with the associates of HK International Arbitration Center and the Center’s Secretary-General, Ms. Chiann Bao, talked about the organization’s facilities, expertise, framework of recognition and enforcement of arbitration awards. The last meeting was held with associates of HK Institute of Arbitrators. The delegation was greeted by the CUM Membership Chairman, Mr. YK Chan and discussed matters on the development of arbitration system and co-operation between the 2 parties.

Since the signing of cooperation agreements in the year 2006, WTC Macau Arbitration Center has been constantly working with HK Mediation Center and HK Institute of Arbitrators in the promotion and enhancement of the use and development of arbitration and mediation within Hong Kong and Macao. These visits would further strengthen the relationship between WTC Macau Arbitration Center and the relevant parties in Hong Kong and in the same time reinforce communication and mutual development through continuous cooperation.
