“WTC Macau Arbitration Center” and “The Legal and Judicial Training Center” signed a protocol on November 10, 2006 with the aim of organizing training courses on arbitration and conciliation and to further promote these systems as alternative dispute resolutions in Macau. The signing ceremony was followed by a seminar entitled “The Judicial Regime of Arbitration in Macau”, wherein representatives from academic, judicial and governmental bodies delivered speeches on arbitration in Macau.

Mr. Vitor Ng (2nd left), President of General Council of “WTC Macau Arbitration Center” signed the protocol with Mr. Manuel Trigo, Director of “Legal and Judicial Training Center”.

Mrs Cândida Pires, Associate Professor of University of Macau and Mr. Álvaro Dantas, Judge of the Base Court, delivered speeches on “Judicial Monopoly: Relativity or Crisis” and “Distinction between arbitration, mediation and conciliation” respectively.

Ms. Teresa Leong, judge of the Base Court, delivered speech on “Recognition and execution of arbitral awards on foreign commercial disputes in Macau”.
